QUALITY CONTROL COMMITTEE

The Corporate Quality Committee is composed of senior executives and top level management responsible for managing quality improvement activities within the company. The group makes key decisions regarding how quality should be measured and what approaches should be used to improve quality. They identify barriers that could impede the implementation of the QMS and devise methods for eliminating those barriers. The Committee reviews status of the QMS and makes adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)

We have implemented an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System and have obtained AMPP QS1 certification (Standard Procedure for Evaluating a Contractor’s Advanced Quality Management System). AMPP QS1 certification requires participating contractors to implement and document more stringent ISO 9001 compliant quality control and record-keeping procedures than those included in the AMPP QP1. However, unlike ISO 9001 certification, QS1 provides the facility owner with the dual benefit of a coatings-industry specific QMS model for contractors who have the operational capability required by QP1 plus the ISO compliant QMS detailed in QS1. We are committed to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the QMS and monitor the effectiveness of the QMS by planned audits, management reviews, and effective corrective and preventive action.

CRAFT WORKER ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

Abhe & Svoboda has developed and implemented a Craft Worker Assessment program to train, qualify, and assess personnel to ensure owners receive a quality project performed by professional craft workers. Key elements of the program include initial and ongoing training, and the evaluation of employee skills to verify they are qualified to perform assigned tasks prior to the start of work. Our employees receive structured on-the-job and classroom training in surface preparation, coating application, inspection procedures and products utilized. The program applies to all craft workers including: existing employees; newly hired craft workers; and trainees and apprentices.

INTERNAL AUDITING

Internal auditing is critical for managing and measuring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and for identifying areas for improvement opportunity. Audits are conducted by American Society for Quality (ASQ) trained auditors. The Internal Audit program helps Abhe & Svoboda meet customer requirements and continually improve and assure conformance with company and external standards.

CERTIFIED COATINGS INSPECTORS

We have experienced National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspectors on staff to perform coatings quality control inspections. Most QC Inspectors are Level III certified and hold additional certifications as well.
